Opening of the Twinning Project - EU support to the Parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina in EU integration tasks

The Twinning Project “EU support to the Parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina in EU integration tasks” was officially launched on 27th June 2019 in the Grand Hall of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Twinning Project is implemented by the Hungarian National Assembly in Consortium with the Austrian Parliament and the Croatian Parliament. 
The opening ceremony was attended by the Members and staff of all four BiH Parliaments - the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Brčko District Assembly - as well as Cantonal Assemblies, and representatives of the international organizations, civil society and media.
The Twinning Project was opened with the remarks from the highest of dignitaries from cooperating Parliaments and the representative of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH:

Mr. Domagoj Ivan Milošević, Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee of the Croatian Parliament
Mr. Elvir Karajbić, Speaker of the PFBiH House of Representatives 
Ms. Sonja Karadžić Jovičević, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska
Mr. Nicolas Bizel, Head of Operations for Justice and Home Affairs, Public Administration Reform, Delegation of the European Union to BiH



The Twinning Project “EU support to the Parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina in EU integration tasks” will be implemented in the period of 24 months starting 1 May 2019. It is implemented in four components:
Component 1 - Enhancing the capacities of the EU Units 
Component 2 - Strengthening cooperation among the BiH Parliaments on EU related issues
Component 3 - Enhancing legal approximation capacities of the parliamentary administrations
Component 4 - Developing capacities of the Cantonal Assemblies

This is the third EU parliamentary Twinning Project facilitated by the European Union, and its budget is €2.3 million.
